The   TRIMDON  TIMES

Trimdon as it used to be...

It’s interesting to look at what has changed in our villages over the years. Some parts have barely changed at all, whilst others have been changed beyond recognition. Browsing the pictures and information in this section should bring back a few memories for the older residents, and show the younger ones’ just how much has changed in a relatively short time.

Photo History - a striking display of photographs which clearly show what has changed (and in some cases what hasn’t ) around the Trimdons. Also grouped by village. If you can add any dates or information to any of these pictures, please let us know.  A collection of TMS bus photographs plus old photo-postcards  have also been added.

Family Albums - hopefully we can build on this section to gather a good selection of old and not so old family photographs which show the changes over the years.

Historical bits and pieces - general info, documents, maps and other odds’n ends that are connected to Trimdon and its’ past.     >

Mining - a major part of life for this and many other County Durham villages. Photographs of local banners, a personal description of a mining accident, and links to the Durham Mining Museum

Genealogical links - a general collection of web links which may be useful for anyone trying to track down ancestors or information.    <  To be added soon  >
