Trimdon Station Community Action Group   -  an update from 10/09/09

They do say that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" - and it was certainly the loud chorus of protest from residents that got the relevant agencies to listen - FINALLY!

THANK YOU for attending the meeting on Thursday 10th September - the police have recorded there were 120 concerned voices making their fears and problems known.
The Agencies who unfortunately did not manage to attend the meeting have certainly heard about it. They now realise the strength of feeling in our community and are working together to put in place an ongoing plan of action.

We now have strong support from;
Mr. Phil Wilson     :M.P.        Response 10th Sept 2009     Update 24th Sept 2009
Mr.Morris Nicholls :County Councillor.
Mrs.Lucy Hovells   :Community Safety
Mr.David Riseley   :Housing Acting Neighbourhood Services
Ms.Nicola Peak    :Housing Policy Regeneration
Ms.Alyson Spencer :Youth Worker :Groundworks N.E.

Neighbourhood Policy Team
Insp.Paul Harrison
Sgt. Steve Hawkes
PC Joann Godber
PC Rob Mellenthin
Pcso Rob Ramshaw
Pcso Andre Robson

Contact is being made with all Private Landlords and Mrs.Virginia Kemp is the spearhead working with us to help alleviate these problems and allay our concerns.
The Police, you will have noticed, are more in evidence and have promised a high profile presence at the more necessary times.
The group of 5 elected at the meeting to liaise with neighbourhood watch have been listening to your ideas and comments. The aim is to help all ages of the community to 'belong'

If there is a problem you can contact:

We are starting with a football session at Trimdon Colliery on Saturday 26Th September at 2pm. Supporters will be welcome

We aim to keep you informed by regular newsletters and meetings-any ideas, suggestions or comments are always very welcome as well as any concerns you would like to air.
It is now recognised that there is a determination by all concerned parties as well as residents to restore our community to a pleasant and safe place in which to live
This would not have come about without YOUR SUPPORT -  PLEASE CONTINUE TO GIVE IT.

Also we would like to mention there is now a Youth Club every Thursday 5pm till 7pm for 13yr olds up to the age of 17yrs old at The Welfare Community Centre.

There is a further meeting for residents to voice their concerns and also to find out what action has and is being taken.
The meeting is on Thursday 24th September at 7pm at the Trimdon Station Community Centre,
where the police will be present and are there to help us make this a safe place to live.

Can I also say this meeting is nothing to do with the neighbourhood watch that was present at the last meeting -  this is the residents standing together and making it shown we are strong and we are one.
