Volunteers Needed!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER AND HELP IN YOUR OWN LOCAL COMMUNITY AND LEARN NEW SKILLS?  IF THE ANSWER IS YES PLEASE READ ON……….

THE EAST DURHAM PLAY & COMMUNITY NETWORK IS A REGISTERED CHARITY WHICH WAS SET UP IN 1990 BY A GROUP OF VOLUNTEERS CONCERNED WITH THE LACK OF PLAY FACILITIES.   VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.EDPCN.COM

WE ARE BASED IN A SHOP IN TRIMDON GRANGE AND PROVIDE LOTS OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR 2 NEW PROJECTS WE ARE GOING TO DELIVER IN THE NEXT 3 MONTHS.

SNOW SQUADS –  During a 3 month period from December to February 2012. The aim of the project is to mobilize community volunteers in supporting vulnerable people during periods of Adverse weather conditions.  The project will be delivered in Trimdon Grange.
All volunteers to attend one day training event at East Durham Community House and to meet at EDPCN premises once a week for 3 months.

CANCER CHAMPIONS – to raise cancer awareness in Trimdon Grange. Support the NHS staff in the production of an Action plan to improve screening rates in Trimdon. Support and facilitate the Action plan through a Community Awareness Day in Trimdon Grange.
All volunteers to attend a day of training and awareness raising and training with the NHS at East Durham Trust office.
